Diamond Beach
The so-called Diamond Beach is relatively recent
On the other side of the road you can find the famous Diamond Beach, where icebergs from the glacier lagoon flow and wait for you to take a picture. But be prepared: it will take some time to reach Höfn (pronounced Hâpn), where you can finally stay overnight to continue your itinerary in the morning.
Even for Icelanders, Diamond Beach is a relatively recent tourist phenomenon. To visit this beach, you must join a tour to the south coast.

EASTFJORDS: The East of Iceland
Discover the eastern fjords and their small towns
The third day of the itinerary is one of our favorites. We can’t explain why, but the calm of the Eastfjords is contagious. Take the opportunity to see the scenery that continues as we follow the coast of the East Fjords to Egilsstaðir, the catalyst city of East Iceland. Take the detour for a 3-hour hike to Hengifoss Waterfall (Aren’t you sick of waterfalls yet? Good thing, because there are more!), one of Iceland’s tallest waterfalls, flanked by a red-hued gorge.
