Complete itinerary of Iceland 7
Snæfellsnes and West Iceland
Húsafell and other unmissable gems on your itinerary
On this day trip, get ready to wake up early and explore West Iceland. Here, in this mini-Iceland, you can find a bit of everything. Craters, gorges, a small glacier, hot water pools, craters and famous mountains, such as the Kirkjufell mountain.
Start in the Reykholt and Húsafell area. Discover the Deildartunguhver geothermal source, the most powerful geothermal source in all of Europe. Then pass the Hraunfossar waterfall and walk to the nearby Barnafoss waterfall. The Húsafell area is a very rich area acclaimed by National Geographic.

Whale Watching
Snorkeling
Horse Riding
At the end of this day, don’t forget to visit Reykholt, where Snorri Sturluson, a medieval historian, politician and writer of some of our greatest sagas, lived.
Kirkjufell
Game of Thrones scenarios
Take the day to the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Start south of Snæfellsnes and go around. The first stop of the day is the picturesque seaside villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar, where we recommend trying Fish and Chips – very popular in Iceland – before entering Snæfellsnes National Park. Visit the Magma Cave HERE. Pass by Djúpalónssandur beach, where you can see shipwrecks. Arriving at the north of the peninsula, take the opportunity to pass through Kirkjufell which, as we mentioned earlier, is also one of the settings of the Game of Thrones series.
